Williamstown and the Berkshires

Buxton Students on Spring Street
We are very lucky to be in Williamstown, Massachusetts, a beautiful, safe New England town that also provides big-city attractions and culture
* The Francine & Sterling Clark Art Institute is right next door to our campus. It is a one of the country’s best small art museums with one of the finest Impressionist collections in the world. We are also able to take advantage of its excellent art library.
* Williams College is right in the center of town. Our students have access to its libraries, and we regularly take students to artistic presentations and lectures on its campus—from watching the Jose Limon dance company, to listening to Cornell West or Paul Farmer speak, to attending a performance of the Shanghai String Quartet.
* The Williams College Museum of Art is considered one of the best college art museums in the country.
* MassMoCA (the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) is in nearby North Adams. With rotating exhibits of contemporary art, a robust performing arts series, and the newly opened and much-lauded Sol Lewitt installation, MassMoCA is a rich resource for our students and teacher.
* Jiminy Peak, a well-known New England ski resort, is 15 minutes from our campus. We take our students skiing and snowboarding there three times a week in the winter term.
* The Pioneer Valley, home to the famous “five colleges” (Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and UMass) is only 90 minutes away. We frequently take our students on field trips to see exhibits, performing arts, or just to spend the day having fun.
* We are only three hours from both New York city and Boston, allowing us to take day-long field trips to major museums, plays, and other events in these two major American cities.
