Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition
Tuition for the 2010-2011 academic year is $43,500 for a boarding student and $27,500 for a day student. This fee covers room and board and academic study, plus basic materials for courses, lab fees, field trips, tickets to approved cultural events, athletics (including ski pass), and programs and activities held on campus. Books, All-School Trip fees, laundry fees, some art supplies, weekly allowance, and travel are the family’s responsibility.
Financial Aid
Every year, Buxton renews its commitment to creating a student community that is vibrant, diverse, and excited to be here. We understand that not every student that is right for Buxton has the means to attend the school. That’s where financial aid comes in. We spend a significant percentage of our annual budget on tuition assistance, and we make our awards on the basis of both need and fit.
The financial-aid process begins in February with submission of a completed Parents’ Financial Statement to School and Student Services (SSS) in Princeton, New Jersey. In addition, parents must submit to the Buxton business office a complete copy of their most recent income-tax returns (including all schedules) along with a written request for aid. Together, these documents provide a basis for review by the financial-aid committee. Financial aid decisions are made independently from admissions decisions.
Buxton School also works with a variety of financial institutions to provide flexible choices for funding a student’s education. Please click on the links below for further information on these options.
