Guidelines for Release and Use of Alumni Information
General
Alumni information, including names and contact data, is confidential material and is provided only to members of the Buxton community. This information may not be made public, used for commercial purposes or solicitation, or shared with anyone outside the Buxton community.
All inquiries and requests for alumni information will be referred to the Alumni Office.
It is the practice of the office to provide to mailing labels, email addresses or other information in these instances:
That the request is someone working on behalf of Buxton
That the purpose is non-commercial or is of benefit to the Buxton community.
Alumni wishing to restrict the dissemination of their information, or to limit access to specific types of communication, should contact the Alumni office.
Class Notes
Alumni referenced in class notes provided by others will be contacted for permission to publish in the printed annual Newsletter and/or the class notes section of the school’s website.
Contact Information
Inquiries concerning personal alumni information will be handled in a manner designed to protect the privacy and rights of the individual. It is the policy of the Alumni Office not to provide personal information about individual alumni. Because of privacy concerns, requests to the school for contact information not provided in the on-line alumni directory will be referred to the alumnus/ae in question, providing them with the option of furnishing the information to the inquiring party, or giving permission for Buxton to disseminate the information. Information about an individual alumnus/ae will only be released with the direct permission of that person. An exceptions to this is the sharing of information to members of the Buxton community to inform or invite, such as by class agents.
