Mike Burstein ’09, who participated in African drum and gamelan performances during his time at Buxton, came back to campus to share his expertise with current students recently. Mike was part of the summer Bali program; many thanks to Mike for sharing what he learned at the Tri Pusaka Cakti Arts Foundation with our gamelan group!
Peter Shumlin '74 victorious in the Vermont gubernatorial race.
Peter Shumlin, class of 1974 and current member of Buxton’s Board of Trustees, was elected governor of Vermont. Peter won a tightly contested primary to become the Democratic candidate running against then-Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie. You may read more at the Burlington Free Press.

Governor Shumlin’s Inaugural Ball
On January 7, Peter Shumlin ’74 was joined at his Inaugural Ball at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, VT by fellow Buxtonites Peter Smith ’74 and his wife Jane, parents of Lou Smith ’09, and Khidt Ladd ’09, a sophomore at Hampshire, who worked on Governor Shumlin’s primary campaign last summer.
