Peter Shumlin, class of 1974 and current member of Buxton’s Board of Trustees, was elected governor of Vermont. Peter won a tightly contested primary to become the Democratic candidate running against then-Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie. You may read more at the Burlington Free Press.

Governor Shumlin’s Inaugural Ball
On January 7, Peter Shumlin ’74 was joined at his Inaugural Ball at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, VT by fellow Buxtonites Peter Smith ’74 and his wife Jane, parents of Lou Smith ’09, and Khidt Ladd ’09, a sophomore at Hampshire, who worked on Governor Shumlin’s primary campaign last summer.
