Fall Home Weekend
Thursday, October 29, 2009 – Sunday, November 1, 2009
Our first home weekend is almost upon us! A few words about travel and permission:
— If your child lives too far away to come home for Home Weekend, he or she is welcome to stay at Buxton. Please contact the school and let us know that your child will be staying here.
— If your child will be traveling home to you by bus, we can buy bus tickets and take him or her to the bus on Thursday morning. We can also arrange to meet returning buses on Sunday. If this is what you want your child to do, please contact the school and let us know that. We will also be asking the students to alert us if they need a bus ticket.
— If your child will be traveling by plane or train, all of the ticketing arrangements are up to you. If you need a taxi for your child to get to an airport or train station, please contact the school with the flight/train time(s), and we can help reserve a taxi for your child.
— If your child is planning to visit another student’s home for the Home Weekend, we must receive permission from the visiting child’s family as well as the hosting family.
— Our expectation is that the students will be supervised by a parent or family member during Home Weekend. Please do not allow your child to stay in a hotel with other students while they are released from Buxton. While they are not under our care and supervision while on Home Weekend, it’s important that we know they are spending that time away responsibly.
For your convenience, we are including a return postcard: please complete it and return it to the school with all the necessary permission(s) and travel information. Whatever way you choose to be in touch, we need to hear from you by October 12, 2009. Please be sure to indicate your child’s travel plans for both leaving school on Thursday and returning here on Sunday. Thank you!
