We’re excited to share that Buxton alum Miles Joris‑Peyrafitte ’10 has added novelist to his resume: he’s co-authored Gaslight with New York Times bestseller Sara Shepard.

You may already know Miles from his film work – he directed As You Are (his Sundance-winning debut), followed by Dreamland starring Margot Robbie, and The Good Mother starring Hilary Swank.

Now, he’s bringing that cinematic flair to the page. Gaslight blends suspense, mystery, and unexpected twists in a way that feels like you’re flipping through a thriller you’d actually want to see on screen.

Fun Fact about Miles: Back in 2010, when Miles was a student at Buxton, he was part of the Documentary Trip Group to Nicaragua for the All-School Trip and made a film about the school’s journey there and back. Maybe that’s where the filmmaking spark started? We like to think so!
