“Giving Back is Always in Style” – Junior Gomez ’07 Returns to Buxton for a Mural Workshop
This past spring, Buxton welcomed back alum Junior Gomez ’07, who returned to campus from North Carolina to lead a hands-on spray paint workshop with current students. His visit was all about giving back – sharing not only his technical skills but also his passion for creativity, self-expression, and joy through art.
During the workshop, Junior introduced students to spray painting techniques, offered insights into his process, and encouraged them to explore a new medium with confidence and imagination. His energy and openness made for an inspiring and unforgettable experience.
We love it when alumni return to share their passions with the Buxton community, especially when it lights a creative spark in our students.
Originally from New York City, Junior came to Buxton as a freshman and went on to attend Wells College, where he captained the soccer team. He now lives in North Carolina with his girlfriend and their dog, Esco, and has built a vibrant career as an artist and muralist, creating works across the country. Junior credits his time at Buxton with helping him discover his artistic voice and showing him what’s possible in the world of art.
Thank you, Junior, for coming back and sharing your gifts!
