Buxton School offers its gorgeous campus during the summer months for residencies, workshops, conferences, weddings, and special events. The campus, a 120-acre, former estate nestled in the beautiful Berkshires of western Massachusetts, boasts modern facilities, three dormitories with rustic, New England charm (accommodating up to 90 overnight guests) and scenic, mountain views. Walking distance from downtown Williamstown, The Clark Art Institute, and the Williamstown Theater Festival, and driving distance to myriad other natural and cultural offerings in the area, visitors to Buxton’s campus can enjoy the full gamut of summer in the Berkshires.
Weddings & Receptions
From a magical, outdoor wedding under the stars to a cocktail-hour on the terrace to dinner and dancing in the dining room of the old Sangster estate, Buxton campus offers picture- perfect summer wedding venues with the convenience of up to 90 guests having a bed to stay in, right on campus. Rehearsal dinners, after-wedding brunches, and in-house catering services are also available to couples interested in extending their celebration.
Buxton School hosts a variety of week-long, summer arts programs for children, ages 6 and up. These programs foster a depth of curiosity, active engagement, hands-on creativity, and group play. All of our day programs are co-educational and open to all levels of experience.
Artist Workshop Residencies/ Day Programs
Art-making has always been a part of Buxton School’s tradition of progressive education and we are now offering summer workshops for adults in a variety of mediums and disciplines. The campus offers exquisite panoramic views in the year-round cultural mecca that is in and around Williamstown, Massachusetts.
