    Tom Rutledge, a capital markets professional with a Wall Street background, is an investor, advisor, writer, teacher, and philanthropy advocate based in Boston, with business engagements extending to New York, Columbus, and Los Angeles. He has held positions at JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and a 12-year tenure at Magnetar Capital’s Alternative Credit group. An active angel investor, Tom’s portfolio encompasses fin-tech, prop-tech, marketing-tech, and socially impactful ventures that address market challenges from reemployment of former inmates to home energy efficiency. Tom is the parent of a Buxton alum and currently serves as the Board President,, having joined the board in 2015. He also served as board chair of GiveWell.org in its founding years, has contributed to significant publications, and previously was New England’s business reporter at WBUR and won a New England Press Association award. He was also a one-day champion on Jeopardy! Tom holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BA from Amherst College.
